I cannot wait to workout...

I haven't worked out in a week. Busy days and busier nights and a half-vacation week means no workouts for Robbie.
On a more positive note, I splurged and bought some fancy ass tuna, and have been making killer ass salads. Do yourself a favor and stop buying that chunk light bullshit. Solid white, in olive oil. Try to buy a European brand too, because the Spaniards love them some delicious tuna.

Better...

Not dehydrated, no tapeworm, just getting back to the regular diet plan. Which I will promptly blow off tonight in the City.  Dang nabbit!

Can the same still be said for fatty?

Here is a shot of snack time for Aaron yesterday.... Note the broccoli!

Back from vacation and its a GD miracle...

Amazing but I didn't gain like crazy while away. First post in a while. Back on the Wagon for a couple weeks. Will be more diligent.

I'd rather be a fat tub of crap...

...than look like this.

Not even Ron Swanson could be proud of that pedo 'stache

Back to business, with vacation!

So, it's up-and-at-them for 5-6 days. No scale, just sunshine and endless buffets. When I get back, all will be astonished with my ability to keep the weight down!  Muah haha!
See, I'm going to Mexico, and yes, I will be drinking the water.
Is tapeworm cheating? Let he who is without sin throw the first stone, Lance.

New incentive

Come Dec 1 - I can't shave until I see 188 (sustained for 3 days)...

My 'stache looks terrible.

Let's be real

I'm fatty and Dreamforce is a great excuse for staying that way.

(very simple blog post on this one...)

Richard... What's happening!?!?

No picture today, but 197 pounds on the scale.  FFS.  Aaron's packing them in at Dreamforce.  Shame all around.

Cheat Day Hangover!

Still feeling the cheat day hangover. Booooo-urns! I even ate super clean yesterday and played a game of soccer (scored a beauty, cross field header... nice pass Nico!). I konw that I should expect the effects until Wednesday, but it's still mentally deflating. Just remember, Cheat Days make the weekdays worth it.

Mind you, my body feels taught, so while I may not be losing weight, I might be messing around with my body fat ratios. That's always a bonus.

It looks like Fatty has also plateaued.  Perhaps a joint workout is in order? A rethinking of strategies? A meeting of the minds? The cooperative nature of this challenge allows such camaraderie, I wonder if he will be amiable to such a suggestion...

Housekeeping note: I've added data point markers to the graphs on BMI so that we can tell which jumble of graphs belongs to whom and for what item. While we're both trying to get our weights to 180, it's not irrelevant to look at where our relative BMIs are positioned. And in this case, we both fall into the "Fat Loser" range.  (FYI on the other ranges, below 25 is "Nirvana", and above 30 is "Stop Eating your Feelings, Fatty".)

Destroyed!

So, this is post cheat day. I expected to be much heavier but I just did a monster bike ride in Santa Cruz so I'm guessing I'm pretty dehydrated. Them's the rules! So 194 it is!

Today is Cheat Day!

A 0.2 loss is a fantastic accomplishment considering that yesterday I consumed an entire bottle of wine and had three dinners.
Further, I was able to avoid piling huge quantities of wheat-y goodness in my mouth while still seeming like a proper restaurant patron. None of that "I don't eat carbs" bull crap. Real options are out there, people.
Shout out to my boy Doug for hosting me in Napa and introducing me to Bistro Don Giovanni!
Expect a huge increase tomorrow as I celebrate cheat day today...

Progress...

She is a steady mistress, moving slowly but surely in the right direction. Diet was the star of the show: salad, steak and kale, late night wine and cheese.
I didn't leave my apartment yesterday, so exercise was out. One of those days where the work piles up fast and thick, like pastrami on rye at an old Jewish deli.  Mmmmmh, pastrami on rye.
Today will be a day of great fatness as I entertain customers in Napa. I expect great things of this day! Stay strong, Fatty!

Early day 4 - bad rebound

Now I know how those fatties on Biggest Loser feel during their week 2 rebound... That bounce was expected but not a pleasant sight.

I am very worried about Dreamforce next week. You complain about your lunch and learn? Unhealthy food, booze and little time to exercise will abound.

That said, I'm just going to get to 180 by Sunday night and then I can go back to living the good life...

Started my morning with a run - 4.1 miles followed by an apple, coconut water and tea. Will have some oatmeal + nuts around 10 leading into a lunch of salad - mostly veggies and will add some meat here or there. Tonight dinner is Sushi.

Day 4... Almost 2-dimensional!

I had a hard time seeing myself in the mirror today! Then I realized that I needed to stand facing the mirror, otherwise I was completely invisible from the side. I'm just that skinny!  Luckily, from the front, I am still buff like a mountain lion, so, ladies, never fear.

What does it feel like to lose 0.2 pounds in a day? Just imagine the weight lifted off your shoulders. Literally. Because yesterday was shoulder day, so I'm pretty sure that 0.2 pounds is all from right up there on top of my arms. Yesterdays food choices were: handful o' walnuts, cottage cheese, deli-meats wrapped in lettuce with tomatoes and cucumber from the ol' shitty lunch-and-learn, and pho for dinner (large, no noodles, extra meat, with kimchee on the side).

Fatty A put some of that hydration weight back on today, but we're both on target for about a pound a day since Sunday. I must not let up, lest he brings his Fatty A-Game and completely smashes me in this competition.

Also, view the website from a proper desktop browser, and see the graph auto-update from the google docs spreadsheet! Way cool!

A's Day 3 (written end of the day)

I live my life in my office. My office is filled with food. All the time. Like a Bulk Barn but free and a mere 7 strides from my desk (yes, I measured). (day's end, drinks are bit low)

On top of that, they bring in lunch and we can order dinner. With the hours I work ... I will eat likely 14 meals here at the office this week. I ordered Sunday night for the week so I have been focused on salads. We have a decent salad bar at lunch, which I have been hitting hard.

Today, I started my day w/ an apple. I heard that starting w/ fruit helps. No idea if that'll work, but I did snack less. Only one helping of wasabi peas, 10 roasted almonds and 10 roasted garbanzo beans

That said, I somehow got myself crazy dehydrated after my workout last night and woke up 7lbs lighter than yesterday. That's messed up. I expect to gain tomorrow.

Day 3

195.0!
Okay, so I'm basically all skin and bones at this point. Yesterday's meatloaf was amazing.
Quick recipe:
A pound of lamb, a pound of beef (natural, grass fed stuff people!).
A finely diced Roma tomato
One small onion, diced
A strip o' bacon, diced
A couple shakes of: Cayenne, smoked paprika
Finely chopped basillico (three big leaves) and Rosemarie (a small sprig)
A teaspoon of salt
A handful of Italian parsley (come on people - curly parsley?)
A ripe red Jalapeno, chopped finely.

Step 1: Sweat out the onion and bacon, when suitably sweated add to a bowl with the rest of the ingredients.
Step 2: Mash it all together.
Step 3: Cook it at 425F for about 50 minutes (until internals get to 155F).
Step 4: Try not to eat two pounds of meatloaf in one sitting.

Tons of kale and salad consumed as well. Zero exercise done, was still resting after the ol' footy match. Will pick up the pace tonight and be in the 193s by tomorrow.  Fatty's ringing in at about 187 right now, so it's getting serious.

Science!

THE GAME IS AFOOT!

This is gonna be easy!

24 hours, 3 pounds. Down to 195.6. Yesterday I ate identical lunch and dinner meals, about two pounds of grilled salmon in total, and more salad than a normal human should eat.

Exercise was soccer; first game after taking 8 weeks off. 1 goal and a pretty consistent effort on the field.

Today will be a breakfast of eggs, a huge ass Chipotle lunch, followed by meatloaf dinner with a whole whack o' kale and red wine.

I should be down to 190 by Saturday.

How you doing today, Fatty?
